Information & Data Security Plenary Session
Panelist: John Wong, Assistant GCIO, Office of the GCIO, HKSAR Government
Topic: "Information Security: How Much?"

March 29, 11.25 – 12.25

Abstract:
The information age has brought massive volume of information to us at increasing rate. A secure and reliable e-community can turn information into a new power provided it is made available and used properly. To achieve this, we have to rely on the concerted efforts of the Government, businesses, the industries and the whole community. The question is whether and how a state of complete organizational security can be achieved. If not, is it possible for an organization to define a state of adequate security? Information Security is about policy, process, tools and people. The HKSAR Government’s information security framework provides a good reference.
